Early mother’s day present

I will be disconnecting myself from all things work and technology related for the remainder of the weekend.  For all of you who just can’t wait to read another blog post… you’ll just have to wait until Monday.

Happy early mother’s day, Valerie :)

So much to do, and so little time

As the time continues to tick down to our baby’s arrival (approximately 17 more weeks!), I am beginning to feel the weight of all the things that need to be taken care of.  When our baby arrives, I want to make sure that I have time to focus on baby and wife.

Things that are constantly running around in my head:

  • Finish the yard work:
    • Mulch
    • Fertilizer
    • Plants
    • Clear old debris and cut up dead branches from fallen tree
  • Home maintenance
    • Garage (I need a workbench)
    • Laundry room needs organization
    • Outdoor storage for tools and gardening equipment
    • Kid playroom
    • Keep the house clean
    • Roof replacement
  • Baby Room:
    • Closet organization
    • Furniture
    • Color scheme
    • Decorations
    • Sell antique dresser
    • Baby stuff (monitors, diapers, bottles, etc)
  • Child care:
    • Nanny
    • Care center
    • Home day care
    • ????
  • Mommy care:
    • Pay special attention to the mommy to be
    • New clothes
    • Sleep, exercise, diet
    • Doctor visits

Who knew that my style of nesting would be one of trying to get EVERYTHING ready.  I try to get at least one thing accomplished everyday.  This typically means running errands over my lunch break, no television, no Wii games, and not forgetting to spend time with Valerie, Jordan, and Cora.

For this weekend, I am going to focus on Mothers day, and get a couple things done.  My goals before work kicks back in; install a closet organization system in the baby’s room, and get pictures of the antique dresser on craig’s list.

Wish me luck :)
